    Hi guys,

Got my car and finally read up a bit on the in car stereo and found that it doesn't do video, which is a shame, I'd read somewhere online it had the ability to add modules from your PC but I might have been looking at the wrong model.

Anywho, looking around I found this site: http://www.bonanza.com/booths/Mobash...eo_bypass_hack which is selling something to add that functionality amongst other things.

I just wondered if anyone knew of any other ways, a firmware hack for example or a legit way of getting it to play videos?

    Thanks

you're not going to get it to play a dvd, as for the firmware hack...you're better off selling the unit and getting an AVIC-F920 for the simple reason if it were to go wrong after you reflashed it with a 3rd party firmware and the unit bricked itself it'll become an expensive paper weight

Ok, nevermind. It was a short lived dream. There were some things on the newer entertainment system I liked, like album art, and I'm certain it did videos. Don't think I want to spend and extra few hundred quid after selling this Pioneer to get a better one though, it's not THAT important

For what it's worth I've had the capability to play dvds for 6 years with 2 different HUs - and I've only played one twice, as a test, each time I fitted a new one!
