  • Fitting original smart radio

    Hi all,

My smart fortwo has a jvc cd player which is about knackered so I'm in the process of buying a standard grundig radio to fit in it. Took the stereo out today to have a look at the wires and they've all been cut to install the jvc headunit. Just wondering what my options are now as I'm assuming the grundig one won't go in without the connector. Can these connectors be brought so I can cut the jvc one out and rewire the grundig connector back in?

    Cheers
    Craig

iirc, the grundig unit conforms to the standard iso block connectors.

from what you've described, it sounds like you just need the iso connectors to bare ends, and just crimp the wires appropriately!

they usually retail for about £10 or so and any local car audio shop should have loads when they hardwire cars, halfords may even do them too

That's great, thanks for the information. I'll have a look for the connector at the local motor factors.. Cheers
