  • Alternative seats?

    Having just read the artical "Comfortable passenger seat?", I wondered if anyone has found any alternative seats? I'm 6'1" and my good lady is 5'4", and we both find that we need more support on the seat for our legs, for the longer journeys.

      Thank you, the next suggestion will be that I need a Chauffeur!

      Back in the good old days with mini's you were able to fit the good old bucket seats, so has anyone come across anything like that?

          hello folks
          we find the leather seats are fine, i'm 6'4 other half 5'2 but you may find something at:

          or their catalogue 2003 issue: FM3 'professional motor sport equipment' page 82 to page 101.
          hope this helps
          regards

            When looking into buying a smart read up on all the safety jargon about them and it said something about the seats being part of the safety features which would help save you in a crash (something to do with the metal and design blah blah...however it put enough doubt in my mind to stick with the standards.....

              Scotty you are right - it is a safety feature in the Smart and does not need altering

                Susie, and Scotty,
                Thank you, having just returned from the 'Bexhill meet' they are of the same opinion. I get the impression, that if I want to get more leg support, I'll have to adapt the seat as it is, by extending the front of it. Manic has suggested a company for this, so I think I'll follow that lead, although I'll have a look at 'demon-tweeks.co.uk' just in case.

                  i answer to the guy who wanted sub frams to fit his buckets into his smartie- just unbolt the ones that came on the standard seats and slap them on- thats what ive done with mine (pic's will follow soon)- konnig ajustable bukets in black and silver vinyl- 225 quid each - they look like non adustable buckets but, really ajust to suit the driver through 20 points of ajustment. Fantabidozi!

                    I wonder if a rollcage could be put in to protect the rears of the new seats?

                      i think changing the seats is a bad idea and i would of thought you insurance company would not be pleased as it must increse your chanced of injury in an accident !

                          LMAO, ringing your insurance company up;
                          "I've had an accident in my car"
                          "Oh gosh, are you ok?"
                          lol, er, I cant see that one happening
