Back to They Live:

Ok then. Let me put it this way. They Live is the worst film I can actually sit down and watch.

After watching it again, in the wee hours of this morning, after a few (maybe too many) 'light ales'. I really must say that I still really struggle to find any plot. Why does RRP just go off on one? (apart from all the aliens and that) Why does he have a fight (lasting longer than any other scene in the film) with his best mate? and why is that women in the film at all?

You will never ever convince me that it is a ‘good’ film although it is undoubtedly (like most John Carpenter films) a classic. Be it cult or otherwise.

Van Helsing : Not another rubbish film with Kate Beckinsale in it! Why do they put such pretty bait in the trap?

I think the film they live is fantastic. In all the right ways

Your right, the plot sucks, the acting by RRP is terrible.

But the film is sooooo watchable as you say

Planet of the apes. The Tim Burton remake, what went wrong?

Not a fan of remakes - ever, but I thought with Tim Burton on-board that he may pull of something special - Wrong. Total ruined it by removing all the political comment.

S2 Gonzo, Van Helsing lol. Saw it Friday. Wibble wobble no plot, wibble wibble poor script, wibble wib wib Mel Gibson 2. Minge, Half an egg. ;-)

Quote "Mel Gibson is about to make a movie about Boudica,so i guess the Americans will kill all the Romans in a big cavalry charge!!"

Should be a challenge for him. Normally the English are the bad guys!

Maybe the Romans will be the good guys, fighting to "overthrow a brutal dictator and bring democracy and the rule of law" to a fractured native population while the Saxons, Goths and Vikings claim they are simply after more (olive) oil.

It's nice to take a break from the real world in the fantasy world of movies now and again.

im not one to stop watching a film or leave a cinema or anything like that. i'll watch a film even if its not that good.

Meet the parents however i switched off because it was so predictable and utterly utterly boring and unfunny!

Other bad films
jurasic park 2 - 1 & 3 were not too bad
batman - the one with george cloonie
Ace Ventura - N/C
Solaris - george cloonie in another pants film that made no sense!

Donnie Darko was one of my favourite films last year! fantastic!! so leave it alone hehehe

Anything with Jim Carey in it. I so want to punch his lights out with his big cheesy grin..

That film with Mel Gibson in it, Signs. Biggest load of cr*p released.

Deep Impact, that was on the other night, another load of cr*p.

Being John Malkovic was great - you may not understand it - but at least it was original.
I vote for 'A river runs through it' (a film with no plot whatsoever - they might as well have stuck a video camera on my garden fence to watch the paint dry).
Pearl Harbour was also dire. I would be ashamed to be American.
Payback - Mel Gibson trying to be tough. (He's not doing too well in this poll is he!)
American beauty - I actually paid to be depressed by this film.

1. Any movie with Adam Sandler in it.

2. Any movie with Paulie Shore in it.

3. Any movie with "Bobcat" Goldthwaite in it.

4. Any movie with Chevy Chase in it.

5. Any movie with Paula Poundstone in it.

For comedians, these characters are about as funny as a root canal.

I simply have to mention "young einstein", which i actually parted money with to go and see. put it this way, the main star of the film was called yahoo serious.

oh, not forgetting Titanic, the most mushy blubbery piece of celluloid ever. i was cheering the iceberg... ...
