  • Do you have a cover on your fuses?

Look under the passenger footwell (RHD, not sure about the LHD) and look at the fuse box, do you have a cover or are the fuses exposed?

        naked fuses

Mine are naked too!!! (MK7 RHD City Coupe)

Handbook on website says there should be a cover (Although this seems to refer to the LHD version only)

Looks like I'm not the only one , brought up this question earlier as whilst working on mine I noticed that the dash looked like there was a pannel missing , looked in the handbook and according to that there should be one , does anyone have a cover as I dont want to phone the dealer to get then to send me a part that dont exist.

My LHD has a carboardy bit of something - its fabric but quite stiff - it clips under the dash and hides the fuse box - but my fuse box doesn't clip onto the little doodads that are shown in the LHD user manual - without the fabric thing my fuse box would be flapping about near my feet !!

                  Interesting poll!!!
                  no cover either!

In retrospect, I suppose "supercalafragalisticexpialadocious" wasn't a great "safe word..."

But lets be honest, there should be a cover of some sort.
This could be a main reason why people are having problems with fuses falling out or becoming loose, it would only take a stray foot to knock a fuse and bend a contact.

maybe its a *very* expensive cardboardy fabricy thing that was omitted to reduce costs !!

either that or the super strong velcro on it is

do those cars that are missing it over the fusebox have any on the passenger side ?
