i have a smart city 61 on a 03 plate, my battery is only 7 months old but won't hold a charge, also when i put in in reverse it sometimes shows O and won't reverse untill i restart it any idea's guys

Notwithstanding the fact that you might just have a duff battery, you need to check terminal voltage at the battery obvs, 1: When engine running 2: 10 minutes after engine stopped and report back the two readings ...
1: should read ~ 14volts, 2 should read ~12.5volts. (ish)
The 0 thing could be simply that you don't realise you need to have your foot on footbrake when doing gear change from forward to reverse and vice versa, if you do do that anyway, it's likely you have a duff brake pedal switch
