Get Knotted in Knott end December 29th 2013

Hi Everyone

You may recall last year on 30th Dec we did a tour to the mining museum near Wakefield, West riding of Yorkshire. This time I was thinking of a Lancashire tour ending up at Knott end on sea http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knott_End-on-Sea The idea is that we meet at Bolton west services say around 10ish and then set off. Not sure of the best route I know the direct route but thats mainly motorway M61-M55.

Any Lancastrians who have done this route before?

Have worked out a route via the AA mapping system but not had a chance to do a dummy run due to work commitments

The journey begins at Bolton west then we leave the M61 at Chorley passing Botony bay.

Do you mean the Rivington Services on the M61 (this one)?

Yes but its now called Bolton west. I have not been able to do a dummy run. In the past my friend Geoff from Bolton has been very kind to case the run and check the locations.

Would love to do it but time is not on my side.

Michael has very kindly done a dummy run on Friday. Not the best days due the weather. He struggled with some of the route due to the rain but we can take a look at this when we meet. So.............

Just a warning when we get towards to Knott end there is a sharp bend in the road.
