My wifes family coming over either Good Friday or that Saturday, depends on her mums health etc. Will know tomorrow night hopefully. How many have commited to go so far?

Not many. I hope to have at least two there and I am putting a reminder up on thesmartclub forum later on this evening but it has been really quiet here. If anyone is interested, they haven't said anything yet.

It was OK. My wife turned up to this one in her Smart but no-one else did. I guess the Wirral just doesn't have proud Smart Car Owners like us. Still, we made a day of it and headed down to Parkgate for Ice Cream. Damn nice and all. Weather was pretty good and all. I'll post a picture of it later on when I get a chance.

Disappointing........ when I've been in other car clubs and a run/rally proposed the poster asked members to indicate by replying if they are to attend. This seemed to actually happen. Must take the wind out of your sails as happened twice now. I know I can't attend every meet but will advise if attending or not.

I will admit to being a touch disheartened, yes. I did consider asking people who could attend by posting here or on thesmartclub's forum post but I decided against that as this is just a get-together and not something bigger, like a run for example (which reminds me, I've got to organise the June/July run...).

I will attempt this again in May but I've not settled on a date yet. I'll let you all know when that will be.

Continuing on with this, the next 3 months are the following:

24th May
21st June
26th July

Again, I hope to meet in Birkenhead Park but for either the June or July meet, we might meet elsewhere because I am planning a drive somewhere. Once again, we'll be meeting at the cafe in Birkenhead Park at around 1pm. If you can make it, just post so I know who might be coming!

I work Friday nights, but I will make an effort to get there and meet you. You mentioned driving thro' the gate and through park, to park right outside the cafe'. Parks usually have more than one entrance, is there a particular gate to use? Also I've put this latest date on your thread on The Smart Club forum and a couple of replies there.

Thanks for that post on the The Smart Club Forum.

The park has several entrances, yes but normally the two are open on Ashville Road only. The others are closed for one reason or another and the road in the park loops around from one of the entrances to the other entrance on Ashville Road. There are two buildings in the park - you'll know when you are at the cafe when you see my car near/in front of it.
