Trains & Boats & Planes ....... and just a few cars
Here we go then. Many of our friends have been asking "when are you going to do something in Norfolk again?"
Here is the answer
Friday 25 April 2014
Lotus Factory Tour
Cost £34.00 per person (£5.00 reduction on normal price but no guarantee guys in the factory will be working but the tour will still happen)
Commencing 14.00 hrs
Saturday 26 April
Free day with loads to do around Norfolk.
Getting a boat into the city and doing the tourist bit there
We also have three Heritage Railways in the County
North Norfolk Coast is also a possibility
For those “country” people we also have the very famous East Anglian Game and Country Fair
Sunday 27 April
St Georges Day Run
Sheringham to Old Buckenham Airfield’s Classic Wings and Wheels event where the NNCVC will have their own parking area on which we will be included. In aid of East Anglian Air Ambulance . Free entry but donation of £5 or more requested.
We have had a good turn out for this previously and I think this year it will be an amazing end to the run, joining in at this very famous airfield.
Accommodation – Dereham
Please do your own reservations and any deals!
Unfortunately, even if we erected a marquee, we would still not be able to put everyone up, so would suggest as follows
The Romany Rye Hotel (Wetherspoon Hotels) Dereham Centre
As at yesterday they had 13 rooms available. Cheap and cheerful, although completely refurbished not many moons ago, with the usual Pub food. In the centre of Dereham – the town being the centre of Norfolk, so gives you every possibility of going anywhere North, South, East or West.
Yaxham Mill (about 3 miles from the centre of Dereham)
Kings Head Hotel – 10 minute walk from Dereham Centre
The George Hotel - Dereham Centre
We only know of one person to have stayed at the Yaxham Mill who thought it was good, the other Hotels have not been tried and tested. However they are convenient and Dereham has masses of eateries.
(All times and costing as at 25 January 2014 and may be subject to change)
Hope many will be able to join us for this weekend. We are open for suggestions as what else folks would like to do - well within reason
Please post up so we can confirm with Lotus and numbers for the St Georges Day run.
