Anyone interested in a tube to Southport?

Hello Everyone,

After meeting up at the local WirralSmart meet, a suggestion came up that we could do a tube to Southport, so I am opening it up to anyone potentially interested in coming around the end of June (29th of June)?

Potentially, we might start from the Keele Service near Crewe on the M6, stop off somewhere just north of Warrington for lunch (and to allow others to join the tube ) and then proceed through West Lancashire to Southport. Probably want to be starting quite early, about 10am. If people are interested, I'll contact Sefton Council for somewhere where we can stop when we get there (parking is quite a palaver there).

Is anyone interested in this?

Think you've looked at May dates. 30/6 is a Mon, so 1st July on the Tuesday? Yeah, sounds interesting prob meeting u Nth Warrington

Just putting it out there, is anyone interested in doing this? I've only had one or two responses so far and I'd like to get a few more before committing to doing this as it is quite a long drive.

After some thought on it, I am going to go ahead and just do it. The main purpose of the response was to get a rough count so I can plan where we can stop in Southport. If very few turn up, then its not as big a problem because the parking is generally going to be straight forwards. I'll probably be on my own at Keele at this rate but I've been surprised before.

If you do come though, please remember to bring change for parking in case we need it. I'll be announcing where the stop-off points will be tomorrow or Monday.

Unfortunately not. I had hoped that there would been some more interest (if there has been, it hasn't been expressed) and without the interest, I can't justify doing it. I've also got my car to finish painting so I guess not doing this would help.

I'll attempt to reschedule this for a later date in the year (possibly end of August) but please consider the event cancelled for the moment.

I did a tube to Southport in 2010 and 11 we set off from M61 services and went via Croston one way then the next year we went via a different route

As I mentioned previously, this was due to run on the 29th of June but it had to be cancelled due to a perceived lack of interest. However, if people are still up for it, there is always August... probably shorten the route a bit to start perhaps in Liverpool (maybe even opposite MB of Liverpool itself).

Please let me know if you (or anyone else potentially interested) are up for it and if so, I'll arrange a route and time.
