    Re: Remap

......."dark old days"?????............I suppose it is getting lighter as we move to BST tonight!!

seems very convenient that figures were "lost" (your quotes not mine!!!)

      Re: Remap

i've been chasing forfour BRAB remaps for about 12months now and no one across the range of remappers has managed to convince me their maps either work without putting the car into safe mode nor have any of them provided facts or figures

in the fortwo community, many people have remaps and back in 2004, everyone was using smarts-r-us so used them and got a graph showing about 85bhp and i was happy - plus it was only about £250!!

now i'm looking for the BRAB and no one has used mainstream mappers so there is no one to recommend a company and the mappers are looking to charge between £400 and £800 but are just not helping themselves or buyers by not offering data which i find strange as the remap must have been tested on a car or they wouldn't be stating 200+ bhp

thinks dan is right on the money here! its not just the brabby 44 , its across the smart range , people get their cars mapped , are happy to pay the 150 quid or what ever they get it for but are not then prepared to spend the extra on their cars at service time like changing the oil at half the miles between services or changing their plugs yearly when they have done 12,000 miles !
as for remapping a brabus 44 i have to say i think its quick enough standard and for what you spend you dont get much more bang for your money unlike a fortwo 450 where its by far the biggest performance improvement for your money !

          Re: Remap

Most BRABs are now over 4 - 6 years old now but I have only seen a few on the various smart sites over 50k miles! Dunno about the other owners but I do about 5k miles a year so I don't do intermediate but I do do every year and the oil is still lovely and clear

you only need do the intermediate if you are doing the miles and the BRAB owners I know defo aren't doing anywhere near 12.5k miles

PLUS there is no where in the service book to physically record the intermediate change!! So many things on the BRAB use standard forfour stuff that just doesn't apply - haha!

....forfour owners seem to take better care of their cars than the fortwo owners

You should do a service year/12,500miles which ever is sooner and that mean spark plug changes. My points raised on previous threads, only the best serviced Brabus forfour's will be sought after on the used market. Badly serviced will be knocked heavy buy dealers and private dealers alike.

You can use the pages for the intermediate service to record the oil changes

              Re: Remap

didn't disagree as i said - i don't do 12.5k a year but i always service every 12months and i'm sure other BRAB owners do the same..... its just when it comes to the intermediate and you are only doing 8k a year, do you do it or not??

i've just added the next 5 years intermediates to my service book on the pages......!! i guess the only way to detail it properly is by saving my macro receipts for the synthetic oil - teehee!

Anyway to bdw46 who originated this post. Looks like after four pages of threads there doesn't seem to be a 44 brabus remap on offer.

                            Fab!!

That's really good to know - inclusive in the price??

(or is that just me being cheeky??)

...and I don't think it has strayed off topic at all as it's not an easy topic to answer due to the distinct lack of mappers - guess that's what comes of having such a rare car!! Haha!!
