Gear problems

hello, hope you can help me...

after having my forfour for 6 weeks I found a reoccurring fault with finding reverse gear.....its an automatic 55 plate 1.5, selecting neutral and automatic is fine but every so often instead of engaging reverse when required
'r' it says '0'....it wont select reverse gear.

it has been back to the garage under warrantee and they seem to have fobbed me off with 'I need to select reverse gear slower' they acknowledged the fault but wont do anything about it.

the other day i have to drive up a kerb out of the way of on coming traffic because it would not engage reverse....no matter how slowly i did it!

Sounds like it needs a software update, mine was one of the worst for this and it now behaves fine! Main dealer or an indie with a Genuine, Networked, STAR diagnostics (ie us at WellSmart!)

Hi Mate, This is a very common, Easily sorted fault.

All you have to do, Is keep your foot pushed down on the break when switching from neutral to reverse. That 90% reduces the chance of getting 0 gear. It's a very easy thing to do and i garantee you that Reverse will work 9 out of 10 times.

Remember: Keep foot on brake, when selecting neautral/Drive to Reverse.
