forfour clutch replacment

hi my sister has a 1.1 forfour manual its covered 30,000miles and the clutch is slipping,,

no garage around my area will touch a smart car so looks like i am going to hav to change it myself i have a good machanical knowlege but have never changed a clutch going to rope in my old man who has changed lots of old rear wheel drive clutches but never front wheel.

does any one know of a "how to" for changing the clutch any help will be great have done loads of searching but come up with nothing

I would have thought a mitsubishi place would do it for you?

As far as I know theres no reason why any competent garage / mechanic would'nt be able to do the job .

Have you even tried Merc or an independent Smart garage in the Essex area. Merc have a menu system now and quote a price for the full job. The manual Forfour is perfectly conventional and anybody rejecting the work obviously hasn't worked on them before. For a start phone Smart Cambridge and Smart Ipswich to get the outside costs. Don't ask Dad I've changed lots of rear wheel drive gearboxes and I don't think I'd have a go at the Forfour without the proper equipment.

Its a mitsubushi colt 1.1 engine and gearbox, so its not as though it is something strange or unique.

Go to a mitsubushi dealer
