      haha!! random

4 aerofoils (wings) moving through the air creating low pressure on the upper surface creates lift.....rear rotor does the same but in the horizontal plane to counteract the moment force of the engines turning the blades - simples!

keep the figures coming i reckon 500miles - which gives us the published 50mpg

yeah but they do have the rear rotor , that's why they do fly

the MD helicopters have NOTAR technology (no tail rotor) and the boeing chinook has 2 counter rotating lift rotors ...... but i digress - haha!!

              Shell V-Power @ 123.9
              Amount filled 51.98 litters

i hope my calculations are correct (well FQ101s MPG calculator log)

total distance covered since i bought it 3396 miles
total amount of fuel used 407 litters

I;m going to be grumpy here - what a waste of my time reading this nonsense thread! Do what 10.45 says and don't bother us till you do! - smileys to illustrate humour!
Oh, top tip, leave the car near empty if your mum is using it - she'll fill it up for you!

yeah, about that, she will ONLY top it up with £10 worth of fuel!
i do do what 10:45 has mentioned filling up, resetting trip to 0, drive untill next fill, note mileage and then reset to 0 :p.
now you know how i felt when 451 CDI owners were complaining about there 'low MPG' when there driving styles are mainly arround town! no 450, 452 and 454 driver complains about there MPG! its mainly 451 owners !
one 451 turbo owner i know has consistantly got 20-30 MPG, and did complain for a while but has now learned to live with it!
just drive and enjoy while it last!

Doesn't matter, as long as you do a reset, an initial brim and then a final brim and take note of all the small amounts of fuel you put in (NOT how many £10's put in) in the meantime

let her borrow it three times a week!

I agree about 451 owners - but they were sold fuel economy from the off, most proper smart owners bought them as they were different, quirky and fun!

10, i log EVERY fill up wether it be £5 or £50 worth of fuel, but my mum doesnt know how to reset the trip. i know the MPG will be a random number but thats the way i do it.
messer, my dad nicks it most week days! it REALLY pisses me off! thats how its done 3400 miles in 3 months, usually i do about 3000 miles A YEAR! well in my 450 i did any way (11000 miles in 3 years)

She doesn't need to reset it

You may as well pick a random number the way you're calculating it
Like messy, I don't want to hear any more of your so-called fuel calculations any more:wag:

I say good on your parents for nicking it , they're doing it a favour:p
