  • Cracked Rear Wheel Arch

Yes, my Forfour was hit in a car park today and my N/S/R arch has a 150mm crack down it.

Anyone suggest a panel repairer or is it best to buy a new panel?
    :thanx:

has the pannel just cracked? if so repair it.
fibre glass it on the underside and then fill the crack, and then paint it

even easier repair is to remove the cracked panel and get some fine stainless mesh sold on ebay, cut it about a cm either side of the crack and then from the inside with a soldering iron push the mesh into the plastic as it melts, do this all over the mesh and you would be suprised how strong a repair can be made,
fibreglass looses its grip over time as ive been experimenting with bonding panels together,
if you tape up the crack from the outside before you start you wouldnt need to fill the crack at all,
i would though be inclined once the repair was done to have a slither of spare plastic and melt this into the crack and then sand it back with some fine paper, and get someone to either spray the whole panel or flash in the crack

Thanks again guys! I've fixed it for now with super glue and tape!!! I think I'll leave it for now until I get time to drop over to someone.

i actually smashed my l/h/f pannel on my city coupe and i repaired it myself. ok the repair wasnt the best in the world as i used body sealer instead of fibre glass, but i was happy with it. taking it to a body shop would have cost too much. and as ferrina says its a small crack (incomparison to the ones if seen) and can be easily repaired without taking to a body shop as he seams confident in what he is doing looking as some of his previous work.
