clutch issue

can anyone tell me if they have had a forfour 1.5 cdi manuel gear box with clutch problem and how much it would cost to repair.ie foot hard to floor on clutch and still feels like it is biting apart from crunching into forward or reverse gear :frown:

is it difficult to select 2nd when your driving from cold? if so try changing your gearbox oil, if its just 1st and reverse then it sounds like the clutch is sticking on the gearbox splines. get yourself over to www.forfour.co.uk for forfour specialist info!

if its biting at the bottom, this is not clutch wear as that would be the pedal travelling to the top and still not biting.

if you start car, put handbrake on (hard), put in gear and slowly raise the clutch pedal.....at what point does the car stall??
