  • Forfour mirror indicator.

    My smart for four has failled its MOT as the LED indicator in the drivers mirror stopped working.
    I have replaced the unit with a new one from Merc/Smart but it doesnt work. All other indicators in the car work so it cant be the fuse [can it?] Any ideas please urgently needed.

    hi and welcome......

    there must be a wiring issue somewhere - do you have a multimeter??

    i had to refit my wing mirror before xmas as some chav went down our road kicking everyones off.....

    are your electric or heated mirrors working?? (if fitted)

      The connectors are a bit iffy. I did mine and it was fiddly but it worked. Check the unit first, but make sure you don't connect back to front, you'll blow the LED's.

        defo sounds like you need to check the power getting to the wing mirror housing then!

        multimeters are only about £15 for a basic one and will come in handy lots!

          Thank you all for the replies.
          No electric/heated mirrors so it looks like the basic wiring has gone funny.
          Its plugged in correctly.

            Have a look at where the wires go from the car to the door and if you access the wires, you may be able to get a multimeter into the wires there.....
