    Hullo there folks,

I was wondering if there were any forfour buying guides about? Or if anybody could give me any advice at what to look at when buying a forfour?

Im looking for a new daily driver having been a classic driver for several years. I'm looking at the 1.1s at the moment due to insurance.

They seem to be quite funky little cars.

Any advice / tips / what to look for appreciated

    Graham

    Graham,

    Sorry i missed your post

there is plenty of info over on www.forfour.co.uk if you wish to have a look and lots of owners for you to ask questions of!

the 1.1 is a very good little engine and provides good power for its size. its a mitsubishi engine so is highly reliable like the rest of the range and just loves to be driven.

personally i would avoid the automated (flappy paddle) and stay with manual as they are "quirky" - haha!!

    good luck!!

    JJ

The 1.1 (75bhp) is a very good car, but I'd go for the 1.3 or the 68bhp cdi. the 1.3 has 95bhp and a lovely engine. The diesel is only £30 tax a year and can be mapped to 135bhp through Big Performance. No real niggles with Forfour's apart from door handle cables, stiff gear linkages and.... erm.... that's it really! I love mine and cruises lovely.

There are various 'indies' who can remap the CDi to 135bhp, not just one.
But as you're not at that stage yet I'd try to have a drive of all the models and see what suits you best. As a guide, ensure you can take each car on a mixed drive...town and dual carriageway/motorway. That will really show you the differeneces.
