Auto problem

Hi all
I have a 2005 cdi forfour Auto.The problem is this.When setting off only sometimes and from cold I put the car into Auto it seems to stick , Jump forward or backwards a few inches seems like something is sticking If i nurse it forward be real gentle it goes and the problem seems to go for the rest of the day.Any ideas on what it could be will be welcomed.the car has done 70,000 miles.

Also another problem is the headlight bulb needs replacing the main headlight HOW do I get to it I cant see an easy way??? is there one???

for the headlight, its accessed through the wheel arch liner - depending on how big your wheels are, its possible with the wheel turned but i prefer just removing the wheel
