Almost forfour owner

Test drove a 1.3 softouch today and have decided to buy it.
At the time I asked the vendor what the strange kinda subtle whiney sound was and he replied that it was only the engine. After watching the 1,3 vids on youtube, I cant here the sound on them!!!!
Should I be getting a little anxious? Its not a bearing is it?
Any advice much appreciated

Don't recall a whine on Gav's 1.3 and that had 90,000 odd miles on. A whine could be a water pump on it's way out but impossible to diagnose from a description!

If it's while its driving along then i'd guess at front wheel bearing, which are £300+ !!!

Is there another trusted mechanic/garage near you that could take a look at it?

It would seem that it is not a 'normal' sound....and as such if they don't fix it now, it may well cost you later on!!
