Bought 1.3 and problem!!!!

Did about 50 miles in my new car when the oil pressure warning light came on!!!!
What are the possible causes for this?
I'm not moving it as suggested by manual

a lack of oil is normally the first thing - go check it - then a blockage somewhere (when was it last serviced?)
or alternatively, the engine is knackered - I'd go for no oil though (did you check it at the time of purchase?).

Did you buy privately or from a trader - if the latter, take it back.

It could be something simple like the sensor but I'd be wary of any oil or water lights coming on - often by the time they do the damage is done.

are you really in Messina, Sicily?

I've been to Messina a few times - it is in beautiful countryside - although I am sorry that the combined effects of the 1908 earthquake and the bombings in 1943 were not kind to the city - the shops are good though!

no I much prefer Palermo and Catania. I live in Milazzo to the north which is not far from the islands
