  • oopsie in the fog :(

coming home from work in bad fog, left the road and ended up in a verge. Only damage was drivers side front fog light/indicator section, black plastic in numerous pieces from underneath and cracked, chunk out of trim under fog light fitting. Any idea where I would get parts? or should I just take it to garage and claim on insurance n loose my no claims? Any advice welcome.
    Thanks Diane

More than likely, smart will be your cheapest new item option, or find parts from breaking smarts - but without removing panels are you absolutely sure there is no internal damage? factor in spraying costs also.

      Re: oopsie in the fog

There were a few breaking on eBay.

I know a guy who has a red one breaking who seems quite reasonable.

There isn't much behind there tbh - windscreen wash bottle and that's about it.

There is a plastic panel underneath (is that the main damage?) which isnt a necessity so you could just remove it.

Indicator/fog I is possible to get quite easy (make sure it's got fog and not just indicator)

The little plastic strip under the foglight may be a moulded part of the wing (I forget) ... Can you glue it?

I can help lots if you need me to.

              Ouch ...

So yes, the large black bit is the small front under tray (as far as I can tell)

              Indicator/fog unit simple

Panel .... Hmmmm. That one isn't quite as simple. If you can get one in the right colour from scrap yard it should be quite simple. I have lots of guides for fog light removal and taking the front off if you pm me
