  • Forfour alarm disabling?

Is it possible to lock the car WITHOUT the fob, therefor not enabling the alarm?

Mine has spent about 10 days on the road without being used - and this morning the battery was as flat as a flat thing - couldn't even unlock the doors with the fob!!

It would be a definate advantage for me to be able to just lock the car without the alarm.

    Anybody know?

      That doesn't work!!

Manual says "ignition off - press lock button (left of emergency flashers button) - shut drivers door, and it locks automatically - that doesn't work either!!

doubt its the alarm draining it......

i have left my car for well over 2 weeks before with no issues.

if you think its the alarm then just pull the fuse if you are going to be leaving it for a long time. (fuse 28)

Well, I wouldn't have thought it should either - but the static drain from the battery is about 0.03A with it off - but 0.34A when alarmed - so 1/3rd of an amp over a period would be enough to flatten it - it measured 3 volts this morning!!

Thank heavens for the AA Home Start !!!

That's mad - maybe the internal battery in the alarm is fooked and the car is trying to top it up but to no avail.

Pull the fuse - the alarm is the only thing on it and see if the drain is better - could still be something else.

              Re: Forfour alarm disabling?

Yep - pulling fuse 28 for the alarm has fixed my problem - used every day, there wouldn't be a problem - now I can rest in peace, as the discharge has disappeared now.

              Thanks for the help, guys.

Did the alarm go off when you disconnected the fuse as it should have done - it's internal battery kicks in when it detects cutting of power to the alarm.

If not, then it's defo an alarm fault.

                Glad we could help

No, it didn't. How do you know it has an internal battery? Could be that IS the problem.
