reading this I realise what a chance I took buying a car at literally the other end of the country and half way up another country - at the time I was talking to the owner I did think that if I had known a smart owner or member of the site it would have been brilliant if they could have gone and had a look for me
so I think all these offers of "looks " are a great idea - maybe we could have a list on the site somewhere of people willing to do this and their location ?

thanks guys - it is a great idea and i have done the same for other people on my site looking at cars in Bristol - always willing to help someone

this assumes the person looking knows anything about what to look for. I had someone look at a camper I was interested in buying.

Shame he went, looked and told me it was nice, rather than tell me about the filler, the rust coming through the paint job, the knackered step, the bad, blown over respray, the dodgy tyres, or the numerous other faults.

It drove nicely, but the body was minging! He mentioned none of this.
