  • Brabus for four

I'm thinking about getting a brabus just wondering what they drive like really.

Are they a nice ride ? Ie smooth and comfortable ?

Do they go round bends well? And I know there nearly 180bhp but is it actually usable power or is all the power high in the rev range?

I may go and test drive the one they have at my local dealer tomorrow but it doesn't look a great example. It doesn't even have the brabus alloys :/

    Thank Matt

    Re: Brabus for four

Handling is good and cornering is good with the steering very pointy

Ride is harsh/crashy (although I upgraded to bilsteins and its soooo much better)

Power is across the whole rev range - very useable. Not too much turbo lag at all.

Alloys are soft but the best looking so I would negotiate hard on that.

    Is it a merc dealer?

For an 06 plate you should be looking at paying £5k

There is a nice black one with satnav etc on our site. 60k miles but can belt done and a well looked after example.

Happy to answer any Q you have.

Drive it anyway but maybe hold on for something that matches your needs

    JJ

Oh - on the test drive, you won't get full boost until up to temp (about 70degs showing on the pods!

      Re: Brabus for four

Thanks you answered a lot of my questions and no it's not a Merc dealer I don't really like the colour of the one they are selling eather I'd want a black one.

Does the brabus have upgraded suspension than the normal forfour I'm guessing?

And also I see you've had yours remapped.
If I do get one I will want to mod it so what engine mods have you done to get upto 200bhp?

Well the black one of my site is a good option for you then

(I prefer the 2 time silver myself)

Suspension is uprated on the brab over standard (springs and shocks) and it needs it with the power that it has. And the the top speed of almost 140mph

Mine is mapped by tony at tune4performance to 200bhp (hoping to be over 210bhp when we've fully understood how the boost can be regulated better) but I had done almost zero engine mods. Still running stock manifold and stock exhaust and stock turbo. Just £60 powertec induction kit.

Sorry about double post - having issues with the site and it keeps trying to post twice but site is so slow for me that the 30second repeat posting rule gets exceeded.

I can't edit the post either as its just hanging for minutes before timing out

been and looked at it today. it feels much more of a car than the roadster and fortwo lol things are where youd expect them like window buttons ect. i must say after seeing it its alot better than i thought (bar the wheels) 74,000 miles with full smart service history. having a test drive on tuesday

It also has refurbed wheels (wider fronts for better grip)

Has colt CZt front seats as they have larger bolsters

                    Re: Brabus for four

finally test drove it today. im amazed at how well they pull thought there would be more turbo lag than there is.
ride is a bit firm but i suppose it has to be with that power :p

Yup - surprises people the amount of power across the range!

Not like the 700cc engines where you do get a kick in the ass at 3000rpm

if you can resist then yes

although i average about 24mpg (the trip comp on mine is always below calculated)

I have got up to 50mpg in an extended motorway run.....
