Likewise I see your's. Perhaps a greater effort to link to a definite answer is in order - the problem there though is while I know where to find info on Evilution and FQ101 I haven't a clue where on JJ's site the relevant information exactly resides. Only that it will be there somewhere. In which case I would be better leaving a thread for a forfour buff to answer.

Cross referring fora is a two-way street though. I'l happily send someone on Smartz over here if I feel the information they seek is better presented here or not at all on Smartz.

But there isn't a technical area on maniacs to place guides.

To take from forfour would take some effort to change all the image links so they are viewable.

Pinger makes a point but also highlights the attitude towards the car.

And I direct people all over the community - especially for parts and cars

Re: Help! Cannot lock car, plus no readouts on speedo. Fuse problem?

This thread is the exact crux of my point.... it works like this.

OP - Have an issue what is it
        1st reply - visit 'website'
2nd reply - this is your issue, change fuse x at y rating
        OP - fixed thanks.

The OP wouldn't need to go around the houses when it's presented like that.

Now if the conversation had been:
OP - turbo on my brab forfour has blown how do I change it
1st reply - There are some guys on here who might know more... website....

        no issues.

In retrospect, I suppose "supercalafragalisticexpialadocious" wasn't a great "safe word..."

          Do you mean me?

Yes JJ I highlight the attitude to the car and more so the point there is absolutely nothing you or anyone (other than smart introducing a new forfour model to captivate people) can do about it. Until that point is accepted and laid to rest the acrimony will continue - needlessly. You more than anyone else highlight animosity though frankly I've neither dished it out or even witnessed it. Are you absolutely sure there is animosity toward forfours? Don't confuse animosity with mere indifference.

              One last point.
In future, if I refer an OP to another site/resource, I will ask them to 'Come back (here) and tell us how they got on'. That way the ensuing chat should round off the thread nicely and will be a more welcoming approach (assuming they do return). If they don't - then they were only here for the free beer, a part of cyber-life we just have to accept.

There is animosity now and when it was being produced - the thing we laugh at most is when we quote a fortwo owner who said "it's not a smart car because it has more than 3 wheel nuts" and we laugh AT that quite a bit

I have been told to reconsider going to a meet because one of the organisers would have a go at me for turning up to smart meet in a forfour!

I know it's a select few but it IS a smart so should be welcome on a smart forum (in production, out of production or future concept)

                Thanks
