Any quick link guides on this forum to show location of Map sensor much appreciated :-)
Thanks so much for all help. Now I would like to know whether my Forfour 06 limited black edition definately has a map sensor installed? I will look for tomorrow next to the throttle actuator?? I will clean it and if still no joy replace if the car has one. Manchester for Mach assist a bit too far for dyfunctional Smart :-) well here goes nothing tomorrow :-) its 1.1L petrol

I know someone who had their fortwo serviced at http://www.mb-liverpool.co.uk/ and they were quite pleased with the results.
(If the link filter stops it, google MB Liverpool)

There's also SMART Warrington closer than Manchester anyway

Theres a pressure sensor directly to the left of the throttle body

:-) throttle body[/QUOTE]thanks for that :-) thanks for listening to all moaning down phone too :-) . Yes in the past I have been pleased with the way MB serviced my Smart but since staff has changed in there over past year and half the service started to slide downwards and to be honest after the way they have spoken to me and regarded my car as 'old' and not worth the hassle has really annoyed me. I will never set foot in there again they just DO NOT listen. And if they ring me up again asking to rate customer service Imo can't say I'm going to high on list of praises. High pressure selling and very arrogant attitudes, I know I'm a girl but I have had cars for 17 years and I don't commend to say I know everything or even half of it but I do have some working knowledge. I am glad there are forums like this to compensate for those who won't listen and relieve a bit or a lot of frustration for problems.

would be worth calling mastertech assist and talking to them about the issue - they may have someone in your area.

Now do you mean MB aka Mercedes Benz Liverpool offical dealership or MB as in MB Liverpool Merc specialists?

Sorry I didn't mean MB Liverpool :-) I've not been there :-) I wonder if they have a star machine. Inchcape MB dealership is the one I'm disappointed with :-( MB Liverpool is an indie that is only opposite the dealership. I did ring them but I didn't end up going because I couldn't face the trip through Birkenhead tunnel in dodgy car :-)

P1962 relates to the sensor on the accelerator pedal

Thanks very much but would faulty pedal sensor cause my high revs at warm idle too? I'll try and get another pedal unit. Maybe it needs both sensors replacing the pedal and the map :-)

There is a Repair set for the contacts in the pedal

                            Part No: A4545408705

Cheaper option than getting a new pedal

Re: forfour power loss despite new clutchy

To replace the pedal complete is pretty easy just 2 nuts and a electrical connector to disconnect.

There are a few variants of the pedal,so will need VIN No to ensure you get the right one

That is if the P1962 code is still kicking up
