forfour drivers door

we have recently had a problem with the mechanism on the drivers door,whereby it will not close as the mechanism does not engage so the door springs back open,only brute force from outside will close it. does anybody have any experience of this, or any suggestions for a cure.thanks.

Spray the latch and lock mechanism with penetrant lubricant, then keep opening and closing to get the lube in. If it gets better, spray some normal lube in.

Im sure there is a guide over at forfour.co.uk if you need a bit of help its a common thing to happen
