Re: Soft brakes and spongy feel... FIXED BY McSMARTS!

    Hello everyone,

Final update on the brakes: got the new front pads and discs fully run in now. Braking is excellent and very, very sharp! Simply awesome!

Actually, the comparison is just totally 'night and day' - we hadn't realised just how bad it had actually gotten until compared with a fully functioning setup.

Anyhoo - all is absolutely perfect again and really enjoying it.

    All the best,
    Andrew and Nicky.

Tyres and brakes are the most important part of your car, pity they are normally negeleted for things like spacers, blingy wheels, paint jobs remaps, HeadUnits, xenon lamps etc.

I hate to hijack this thread but I'm going to anyhow :newbie:

Sam I know you do this for a living but can you offer some advice please

I have just got my smart back from a service, more like jack up the tax disc and fit a new car :p

They are great guys but. I had new rear cylinders (at 25K!!!) and the system bled through. Now the pedal is as spongy as a spongy thing. It will come back it seems when the car is on a gradient (*!%$*)? It feels for all the world like old fashioned adjustment but I don't think they would have missed that, it's too 'b' obvious. Any little sensors that need a whack with a mallet perhaps
