Looks like you are going to have to go and try the steering for yourself as clearly opinions are divided here. Come back once you have though, and the options can be discussed. Although wider tyres aren't to everyones taste, they do lighten the steering and improve other aspects such as overall grip and especially crosswind stability. Mine has the widest option at 195 (and if you find yourself anywhere in my vicinity you are welcome to try it), Pulse models come with an intermediate 175 size.
My point here is that it may be a route for you to gain acceptable steering weight if you find the standard set up too heavy on the 145s, without the complication and expense of power steering.
