Re: Off the car Alternator test?

    Getting clooser.
Nippon-Denso have obviously sold their alternator unit (of Europe?) to Magneti-Marrelli. Thtas why its so difficult to find anything about ND alternators!
So, what can goolge do for us then?
Found this here, http://www.magnetimarelli-checkstar....otors_2005.pdf , on page 15 there is an exploded view, where we can see how the Voltage regulator looks like for the generator A115I, its nr 7.

on page 58 are the partnumbers availible as spare parts
Generator number____Voltage regulator (with brushes included)__Diod bridge
    063341896010____085552509010______________________ __085552108010
    A115I-75A-14V

So there exist an exchangeable voltage regulator with brushes, 085552509010, only question now is, where to buy it..?

I suggest you check for bad contact on plug in connector at back of alternator first. Voltage regulators are sometimes hard to source. Why not just replace the brushes?

PS. It is best to lower subframe to gain good access.

        I agree.
But I will try to get a regulator to from one of those firms who offer rebuilding of alternators and in the same time are ready to take a NipponDenso in trade.
If imposssible, I will look at the brushes and if bad as I suspect, I will solder in new brushes only.

Unfortunately unless you have a special motor tester your out of luck on checking out your alternator.

Well, I still keep my replaced alternator.
Some day I will take out the regulator and brusches and see what I will find.
