I strongly recommend fitting standard rear Roadster springs on rear axle on your 450. Much improved comfort as no longer riding on the urethane spring travel stops.

TBH, apart from fitting any other set of alloys other than the standard Monoblock VI alloys (assuming that is what is fitted) to ensure they don't bend out of shape and have a slightly higher sidewall to cushion any unevenness (marginal it may be), I'd just leave it as it is. The roads around here are pretty variable and speed bumps are hilariously uneven. Even the M53 varies in smoothness from spirit level smooth to rutted and noisy. I've whacked a few wheels on potholes there as well... not fun at all, lucky not to get any wheels bent out of shape.
One of my family members has a side scope on his 2004 Cabriolet. It does nothing to improve the performance but it looks OK though I wouldn't personally bother. I would probably think lining the contacting edges with rubber beading to prevent scratching the Tridion.Last edited by Ocracoke; 01-11-16, 10:33 PM.

It is certainly possible to get touch up paint - try the Mercedes in Liverpool or Chester first as you can be pleasantly surprised by the prices they'll sell stuff at sometimes.
Without seeing the wheels (and not knowing which ones they are), I couldn't comment on a DIY fix for them though it would normally involve flattening them down so the surface is smooth, painting if they are standard alloys and then lacquering, which can be fairly intensive (I've tried before on Brabus wheels). I'd get a proper wheel refurbishment if you want it done.Last edited by Ocracoke; 02-11-16, 06:33 PM.

Hiya Ocracoke
I loved your comments about our local roads I have never noticed how bad they were though.
Little cabrio is going well and I feel it was me that had to adjust to its character.
I will try the local MB garages though not a big fan of either from previous dealings.
As for the wheels they are in very good shape and not painted just lacquered , just had other cars wheels refurbed so I know what you are saying. I may have a little try to sort out and will keep you posted.
Right here i go again for a blast on our wirral roads.
Ciao.

To be fair, they are are not terrible... just under maintained. I went for drive around last night, even in my supposedly normal ForFour they were rough. The bit I am in (by the docks) has cobbles in places! As for the Merc garages, Liverpool's part desk is pretty straight forwards, not tried Chester's yet.
Sounds like you do have the Monoblock VI wheels (or a variant thereof). As I say, the wheels I have laying around I tried to refurbish went horribly. Ended up getting them powder coated as they were oxidising a fair bit (I wrote up my refit of my old 450 - http://smartmaniacs.co.uk/forum/gene...of-my-2002-mk5, really should do my 454 as well).

I got your message thanks Okracoke wonder if you got my reply?
Would anyone know how to remove a rear smart badge? It looks and feels like separate vinyl lettering?
