My car jerks on gentle acceleration. After starting the vehicle, if I gently step on the gas pedal to accelerate either forward or in reverse, the car jerks with so much force coffee would spill all over the place. If I aggressively tap and hold the gas pedal, the car begins to move normal without jerking. And after driving for a few minutes, it stops jerking even if I step on the gas pedal gently. If I turn off the engine, then turn it on again, the problem repeats itself in the same fashion. This fault first appeared when I was in my way to deliver the car for a clutch replacement. All 3 engine mounts were replaced. What could be the issue?

Jerking clutch is a classic Smart 450 and Roadster 451 problem.
The cause is either stiff clutch actuator or broken or partly broken wiring to clutch actuator. Regarding wiring fault, the typical areas are where wiring harness chafe against intercooler cradle and at end of outer protective sleeve on wiring about and inch or so away from plug that connects to clutch actuator.
