We map XKRs for a well known Jaguar/TVR specialist and when their chargers come on song is a cornflour moment

You can bring back some of the noise iirc, I was reading about this the other day. Same on the big mercedes, merc put covers in place to reduce the noise etc and there are things that can be done easily and quickly to bring it back!

Ian, I may well pop down to check this conversion out, although I know I will end up doing it (I assume the MHD won't cause an issue?) but out of interest, why no cameras? Not that I even thought about taking one, just wondeirng why you mentioned it specifically!

          IPR??

Some pics could give another tuner the opportunity to catch up on a years development at v little cost!

not really, its all to do with the new supercharger being used. it whines but there is more engine and exhaust noise. its nice but i still want the whine!

I always thought the whine of a supercharger was caused by the toothed drive belt used.
I was lead to believe that the noise was the trapped air escaping between the belt teeth & the pulley teeth & that is why 4"+ belts were used & not multiple v-belts, as people wanted the noise.

the Jag 4.2 S/C V8 uses a belt that looks like any other drive belt and isnt 4" wide, id say its about 1" wide. its the supercharger itself that makes the noise. we took one off when we were stripping an engine at work and i spun one up and its the blades inside going round

that last one is awesome (the other 2 are far too chav tastic)

                          160mph in around 30secs!! wow!!

shame there isn't more engine whine to give a hint to its power!!

wish the BRAB forfour kept going like the Jag does.....does have a nice wastegate chatter though!

100mph in 13secs is good but the 1.5 engine just doesn't have the grunt

If it doesn't have the grunt do something about it then!!

Bah! Those noise pale in comparison to the noise of a VW G40/G60 supercharger!!!
