  • Drivers Door Not Locking

Hi new to the forum. The wife has a fortwo (451) diesel cabrio on a 10 plate. I used it yesterday and in the dark didn't know which button was which on the key and s a result of that discovered that despite locking it the drivers door remains unlocked.
I have looked on various forums and all doors are closed the rear is fully closed and it is the same with both keys. (they lock and unlock but the drivers door doesn't lock). The indicators don't flash on locking either.
Am I correct in thinking this is the central door solenoid thingy that is faulty and if so any ideas how much roughly the part will be and is it something I should do myself?

    Thanks Matt

Being as the indicators don't flash. I suspect something isn't shut properly.
Try opening the doors & rear hatch again & reclosing them firmly.
Also check the fuel filler cap door is shut properly.
You say the drivers door doesn't lock, but does the passenger door lock?
Does the interior light go off?

If the internal light goes out, then It all seems to be working except your drivers door. so the obvious culprit is the drivers door solinoid.lock not working.

I had the same problem and it was the solinoid/locking mechanism.
