  • 451 headlight adjustment

have now fitted lowering springs & shortened sports shocks to my 2009 451 cabrio .

    my question is :-
now find the lights a bit high [ cars flashing at me ] how do i lower the lights. [ beams ]
where do i find the adjusters .
can i find a diagram that shows how its done ..

my independent smart repairer is on holiday , so will be handy to know
if i go to a normal garage to have them checked on a beam setter as our local garage admitted he does not know about smarts .

    thanks .

        what rubbish

EVERY car has a manual adjuster within the car. its only cars that have factory fit HID and LED headlights that dont.

your 451 WILL have a manual adjuster like the 450... RTM

as for a 'normal' garage not knowing enough about smarts... you dont need to know much about the car to adjust the headlights! any MOT station will do it for you... even mercedes.

Yes the 451 DEFINITELY has a cabin adjuster, it's just hidden/obscured to a quick glance.

It's a spin wheel on the column, even I struggled to find it 'blind' whilst driving it sometimes..
Just look in daylight and you'll find it

If only there was a website with all of that information on.

              THANKS , EVILUTION .

that was the information i wanted with diagrams .
now printed the pictures out & took them with me to local garage with beam setter .
chap found the information regards adjusters very useful as he,s never worked on a smart .

at least on the 451 it makes the job easier with being able to remove the bonnet .

with the lowering kit the beams were slightly out on mine .

again a big thankyou for everyone that replied .

Are you just gonna leave the cabin adjustment at some random arbitrary position then ?
