  • Boot access

I used a fob today on my Fortwo 451 that I don't normally use. Drove into town no problem, but then it wouldn't lock the car. Tried all the buttons ..... zilch! I knew there was a way of locking via the interior central locking button (same idea as the Roadster) but couldn't remember what to do so left it unlocked on the carpark.
Which got me thinking. Is there another way into the boot if the fob, solenoid or car battery dies? If there is, I've not seen mention of it or found it. :-? (the Roadster has a bowden cable tucked away for emergency use)

PS By the time I'd got back to the car, the fob had seen the error of it's ways & decided to play the game ..... possibly due to me removing the battery to see what type it was

No-one's hopefully gonna tell you any security related access methods via the live Internet even if a method exists..... Hopefully at least

I never ever thought about that ..... I was thinking along the lines of the cable fitted to a Roadster ;-)
Not sure I'd use the hammer method@=_

Go to Evilution and search Force Open The 451 Hatch

You need to be a subscriber to read the procedure.

Once your in the car there is an emergency release for the boot hatch as described in the evilution guide, I suppose mercy thoughts were to get you in the car in the safest way possible and as the 451 was being sold in America, that'd be through the door hole so they didn't get sued for the Americans being stupid and shutting their heads in the boot lid or something equally daft!

Not being a subscriber to Evil's site I can't see the emergency release, but I wouldn't have thoughtthat MB would have provided a coat hanger in the emergency kit ;-)
