Help weird behavior of my cdi

Hello i have a '12 451 cdi and recently ive noticed that once in 2-3 days when i start the car it wont boost and drives very slow. If i pull over and switch it off/on again the issue dissapears. This may happen 2-3 times per week sometimes less. Also while driving around city at low speed it feels a bit laggy.
When i drive on Highway its totally a different car..

What might be the issue? Someone told me its the egr valve someone else said its ths turbo

Post 2010 , the diesel moved to Euro5 emissions, added a load of sensors which give trouble .... this will undoubtedly be your problem

you have either bought or been sold the wrong car!

read the manual on how to regen the DPF

depending on the journeys he doing, its the wrong car... cars with DPF's NEED motorway miles on a regular basis to regen, town driving will only clog the DPF resulting in what is being experienced!

its no wonder that manufactures who make city cars have dropped the diesel engine from the line up for this precise issue.

They didn't drop it because 'of this precise issue'

They discontinued it because bringing the engine up to EURO6 emissions spec would have made the engines uneconomic to build , several manufacturers face the same problem.

rather than have a bad name, manufactures dropped diesels from city cars because of the face that owners were using them round town and not driving them on the motorway. Euro 6 emissions was another reason but the main reason was unhappy customers! not only Smart but the VAG group, vauxhall, the PSA group dropped diesels from there city car line up

Is correct. The demise of the diesel engine in small cars has been mooted for some time (the perception is that diesel will be a 'premium' engine - but that is because they are only economically viable in a car (or truck - premium, yeah!) priced way above small cars). One third of a diesel engine's build cost is in its fuel system. The sums just don't stack up for a small car.
