451 cdi wont boost when cold

Hello
I recently replaced my engine but in the mornings i have to let it warm for 5-6 minutes before it can boost. Else it wont boost. I get no error in diagnostics or any check engine

What could be wrong?

what was replaced, was it a brand new engine or a 2nd had one?

if it was a 2nd had one, what did it come with i.e turbo?

I replaced it with a second hand engine and yes the turbo came with it.

The diagnostic showed egr problem so i replaced it but now doesnt show anything else but i get this problem

What you need is a good graphite lubri****.

Sticky wastegate even that the problem occures only when the car is cold? When it gets 5-6 minutes warm its ok.

Try moving it cold, Then again when hot. Thermal expansion and contraction.

i agree with the above comments in regards to the waste gate, if the engine has been sat out side exposed to the elements then the waste gate may become 'lazy' in operation until things have warmed up.

might be worth swapping the turbo on the 2nd hand engine from your old engine, providing there was nothing wrong with the original unit and if you have the old engine and turbo

Always clean out internals of exhaust manifold if fitting a second hand turbo that has sat for long. Cakes of rust may fly off ruining turbine.
