MHD car

I am looking at a 2014 MHD model car at the moment. I had no idea what MHD means so did a little research. It appears that I should avoid this car like the plague as the auxiliary belt is prone to break at low mileages. I was really interested in this car (only done 1200, yes 1200 miles). Does anyone have any info on this problem?
