  • Official Smart Roadster remap

    Hey Guys,

i was just looking at the swiss smart site and found that they are offering an upgrade on the std roadster (82bhp) to 90bhp...(the dealer tech guy told me 101bhp)

the link is here but its in french:

    "
    Kit performances BRABUS SB2 [1, 2] .
Pour arriver plus vite à destination. En vous amusant beaucoup plus ! Le kit performances BRABUS porte la puissance du moteur à 66 kW (90 ch) [2]. Beaucoup de réserves… et de plaisir ! "

    translated as:

    "Performance kit Brabus SB2
To get to your destination faster! and have more fun! the brabus perfromance kit rasies the power of the engine to 66kW (90bhp) much more reserve power and fun!"

Its called the "Kit de puissance Brabus SB2" which translates as "Power Kit Brabus SB2"

i dont know much about it except that its approx 350 pounds here... and its just a software remap...

I was also talking to smarttune yesterday and someone mentioned that after the remaps the speeods are not nessiseraly correct, does anyone have any experince here?\

    well just fyi!!

The SB2 kit in the UK is £980!!!!

There is a review on www.thesmartroadsterclub.co.uk

Apparently the measly increase is because it is tuned for mid range torque (more like they didn't want it the same as the Brabus Roady).

I thought it included an air filter and couple of stickers.

well its possible that the swiss dealer has his head up his a$$ their prices seem to chage based on the weather....

the one thing that is cool is that it wont void the warranty ( had my roadie 1 week and managed to get 3yrs warranty)

ill see if i can get a price in writing....

I too have been quoted £900 for the SB2 official remap, it ain't worth it for that kind of power increase. You're far better going for custom remaps which are far cheaper and are virtually undetectable

The Brabus SB2 is both a hardware and a software upgrade, I have had it fitted to our Roadster (although it was freebie for me) i'm immensly pleased with it when compared to a couple of 'Remapped' roadster's that i have driven.

            s2gtmracing,

any idea what they did to the car? what kind of bhp/torque did it change... i ahve been unable to find any english info on it and hte guy at smart hasnt got a clue....

its a toss up between the brabus remap and the www.digitaltuning.ch remap (as the swiss have strict rules about this kinda thing its gotta be legal here..)

both are approx the same cost...

and while we are on this.... has anyone tried the brabus exhaust? coz i wanna help the engine breathe....

            tnks

If this was the test in the Evo mag a couple of months ago which had the SRU remap along the Evil Twin Car aswell in it , then the SB2 Kit was not on test. But also the difference in Hp produced is different between the full Spec Brabus (which was on test) and the Digi-tec - 101hp vs 106hp

The SB2 raises the car to 92Hp, not sure on the complete list of Hardware involved in the change, but the intake pipe from the air bix to turbo is changed along with a few smaller parts. The boost is also raised to 1.3/1.4 bar.

If you use the car alot on the motorway then it gives the car such an added boost at high speed (85+ mph) that the car no longer feels wheezy and out of breath when you're wanting to accelerate

                  Thanks everyone for your help,

i gotta go see the smart dealer today, he needs the cars permit or something like that,

either way he's insisting that its 101bhp not 92bhp,

Maybe they have a new version..... or maybe he's talking out his a$$

either way he's gonna let me know how much its gonna cost along with a list of stuff i want retrofitting (fog lights, obc, auto headlights + windscreen wipers) so we will see what the costs are..

today i shall be finished with the running in period so im really looking 4ward to giving her a lil bit of juice..!!!!

this is just an idle question; what would it take to get an ordinary roadster up to something like 120? - all the mechanical bits as well...

ok the dealer said they have 2 mod's possible.... he didnt give specifics as he is gonna email them to me...
