The thing is, you cannot do a straight comparison like that.
it just doesn't work like that.
I'd suspect in the UK the charge cooler to be the pounds-equivalent... ie £1500+

I think £400 will do for the shipping if anyone wants one. But if the UK-parts are that much more expensive it would be worth a visit over here every now and then for someone to pick up a batch of (spare) parts.

The £1500 includes fitting.

If you were to buy a Brabus charge-cooler in Europe for £1100, you'd still need to pay shipment AND fitting costs.

i think a charge cooler's main benefit would be longer term reliability at high speeds and being able to deliver the power for longer periods of time as it will suffer less from over-heating.

i'd guess that it's bhp improvement would be minimal / zero, it just completes the package for a highly-tuned car.

Surely you could find a crashed Brabus and get the charge cooler off that for a lot less? (V Simplistic view here, but bear with me).

Is this aftermarket cooler really any better than the Brabus one... and to that end, how much is the brabus one?
How does it work, as in is it electrical, or belt driven, or what? (I have seen charge coolers fitted, but never looked close enough to see actually how they work and stuff)

I think what's been suggested is that horsepower figures can be extended from the current reliable figures of around 105 to 110bhp to over 120bhp at the flywheel.
The charge cooler should improve efficiency and lower engine temperatures enough for a more powerful remap to be applied.
