  • Roadster Handbrake Adjustment

I am just in the process of doing a B service on my Roadster and thought the the handbrake would probably benefit from a little adjustment. I have found no method of accomplishing this. On most cars this is done either by adjusting at the lever actator or where the cables enter the cable harness splitter. I can find no adjustment at either point so suspect that there is no method of doing so. Does anyone else know if this is possible?

Thanks for the reply on this. I did go armed with these instructions but it seems that the meachanism for the Roadster is different from the one shown for the ForTwo.

It's worth you knowing that adjusting the handbrake was made an official recall item as they had problems when sold.

(It was only made a recall after I'd paid smart £50+ for mine to be adjusted )

Just to clarify - it was issued as a service measure, there have been no VOSA recalls for the roadster.

Your dealer should have carried out the work if your car was in for any other work to be done.

You should be able to call a dealer and ask if all service measures have been completed on your car.

go have a look at my rear brake shoes replacement on the roady, it'll show you the autoadjusters

There was a service order on the handbrake, as the original placement of the cable could chaff on the de dion I believe
