  • Real weights

    Just trying to find out the correct weights for the normal roadster notchback and the notchback brabus. Looking not tinterweb I can only find them at the same weight. I don't think that can be right as the brabus has extra weight in the side skirts etc Does anyone know accurate weights? Regards Db

    side skirts weigh naff all - certainly when in the context of the weight of the car. There might be an additional 3kg in dry weight, but really nothing in it.
    The wheels probably have more of an effect, maybe an additional 10kg in total.

    If the manuals don't report different weights, I would stick with standard weight.

    In retrospect, I suppose "supercalafragalisticexpialadocious" wasn't a great "safe word..."

      Curb weight figures:-

      Notchback =865 Kgs
      Coupe = 885Kgs
      BRABUS Notchback 895Kgs
      BRABUS Coupe 915Kgs

        Great thanks a lot So power to weights are roughly 1. 92.49. Hp per ton 2. 90.40 3. 110.62 4. 108.19 So normal notchback is only 16 percent down on the brabus. So a small amount of weight reduction should see them quite close performance wise. Anybody shaved 110kgs out of one before.? Perhaps the performance is closer than I expect anyway?

          We have used Carbon panels and carbon seats on one of my roadsters and saved over 100kgs. Light weight wheels , my own light alloy 6 pot brakes and a fair bit of titanium also work wonders

            so 'in theory' you could remap the standard notchback to around 100hp and it should be as fast if not faster as its lighter......
            Doubt in reality it would be though....

              They map easily above 120 bhp

              Down side with these cars is not weight or power etc but the gearbox, it has a habit of absorbing any real world differences

              One way to shave 110kg off a roady is to remove the driver

                I dont find the gearbox thats bad. In automatic its **** but i only ever use manual, changes as quick as doing it manually. Automatic mode fannies around deciding which gear to give you, then gives it you and by that time you need another gear and it cant keep up, just dont use it! :p
