  • Something has seized

Hi all as you know my little Brabus has stood for a while but I have been starting it up I came to start it again today and it apeared flat so I boosted it and it did start but cut out after seconds and a lot of screaming. I think something is siezed so what do you think it will be? I'm going to have a look under it soon it must be the alternator or the aircon but I cant see how you can turn the aircon there doesnt look like there is a nut to turn it, is there a way and what about the alternator? Any help please. Thanks

Almost certainly a seized alternator. The screaming you're hearing will be the belt or pulley bearings.

Alternator, had a similar problem with one of my car. Sadly i changed the starter motor only to find it just needed a squirt of penetrating fluid.

Thanks I have been under it today, took off the stupid plastic cover plate loosing skin as usual and got a ring spanner on the end of the alternator, it freed up quite easy and started a dream. I took it for a short spin I had forgot how much fun it is I am getting to the point where it may be time to get it back on the road and let the 911Turbo go ive said it before a stunning car but only when its motoring and with a top end of 198 its not very often but it still looks and sounds great ahhhhhh.
