  • Calibrating boost gauge

I've just fitted the turbo/temp pods to my 05 roadster. I think the turbo needle was knocked in transit because it reads crazy numbers, but works well otherwise.

Since it's not splined on to the shaft, it can be pulled off and reset anywhere, I've given it my best shot at putting it in a sensible position. My readings are now:

Full over run - around -0.5 bar
    Idle is around -0.1 bar
    Full/Max boost - around 1.6 bar

I suspect I need to adjust it to read around -0.5 at idle, which would give me a max boost of 1.1 bar and full over run at around -1.0 bar? As I don't know the history of the car that well, I was wondering if the range on the boost readings is factory standard, or whether it's been mapped?

    Thanks

    Gary

Turn the engine off - point the needle to "0".
Turn the engine on - it should drop to around -0.5bar to -0.7 bar at idle.

Turn the engine off again - it should rest back at "0" - if it doesn't repeat the process until it does.

Thanks - seems like I'm not too far off then. Something for me to do in the next traffic jam.
