Roadster Oil Leak
Hi Guys
Been a while since I posted but im after a bit of advice.
I have an oil leak on my Roadie, Its leaking in the engine bay somewhere and I imagine its quite near the top.
Ive taken it to my local mechanic but I dont think he wants to get his hands dirty(no pun intended)
He has advised me to clean the bay up, so my first question is....
Whats the best way to clean the engine bay, he advised to throw a couple of kettles of water over it but tbh im not convinced thats a good idea.
My second question, im worried this has happened because last time I did an oil change I over filled the oil.
Not by a mammoth amount but I remember reading all the warnings and now im paranoid this is the cause.
If it is its my own silly fault but im sure im not the first person to do this, so if not is there an obvious place a seal has burst?
The only isnt a constant leak if that makes sense I can leave the car standing for a week and have nothing but if I drive it around then ill get a couple of drip underneath after so it seems to me its when the engine is under pressure.
I did a long journey the other day (200+ miles) with oil half full and when I got back it was near empty
