  • New or Refurb Wheels

I'm undecided whether to get my original wheels refurbished or get new. Refurb would cost about £85 per corner. I've seen these as replacements but not sure which way to go.

What are your wheels at the moment and what state are they in? A refurb of them is probably going to be slightly cheaper as the price including delivery but not tyres is 364 (so 91 per corner and that is assuming the tyres fit onto the new alloys).

The alloys linked to look quite reasonable in all fairness (rather like Spinlines). I guess this is a personal preference thing. From a money perspective, I would refurb your wheels.

      I'd buy the new ones.

I doubt the refurbs would ever look like new rims...

(then sell off the old ones to bring some money back in and make the deal sweeter for you.)

£85 is very expensive I live 10 miles south of Birmingham and around here you will pay £35 a corner and for that you just drive the car in and collect it a few days later all done.

I was thinking the same, but there's obviously different levels final quality when refurbing rims , but if they were bad to start with , I doubt they're gonna look new new at the end of it.

If done properly (by a decent refurber) it doesn't matter how bad they look before the process starts, they will come out like brand new. The process involves stripping off the old finish, re-rounding the wheel to remove any buckles, powder coating & refinishing the wheel.
Believe me I have had some wheels repaired which some people have questioned if they could be saved, yet come back looking like factory fresh wheels.

            I pay £65 a corner.

I had my brabus wheels refurbished 3 weeks ago . They had been in a terrible state. £ 78 a wheel and they look brand new.

My local tyre outlet advise Pristine Alloys as having the ultimate process for alloy refurbishment. Tyre outlet advised me to allow between £250~320 + VAT per set, depending on how much work was required.

have a look at the website for details of the process involved - they don't appear to cut corners, so seem to be very good value for money

In my case, it a decision as to whether have the original 15" Spinline rims refurbished (probably £385 inc VAT) or opt for a change of style/size @ maybe £400 in VAT..... but then I would need new tyres also...
