Get your panel scrupulously clean first to avoid any surface dirt acting as sandpaper , depending how long it's been in place it's going to leave a shadow as sunlight and the adhesive will have left a mark

      Thanks again for suggestions folks.
I got the job done and will post pics if I can figure out how to?
I took the car to phil ball a local specialist and he gave it a thumbs up. Got an oil and filter change and they reprogrammed the gearbox which has improved driving.
I have been using the paddles and it seems to go better.
      A few more questions
Is there a way of fitting a switch to drivers door that will lower passenger window?
Someone suggested shoving a big hole saw up each exhaust pipe to remove baffle to increase sound.
Has anyone fitted wider back wheels to front end?

Photobucket/Imgur would be my first port of call for these types of things.

There is, Evilution.co.uk has done it in the past (http://www.evilution.co.uk/index.php...trical&mod=266)

Who? Not something I have heard of or would recommend, the 450 is plenty loud enough if driven enthusiastically (least, that was according to my parents when they were following me in my old City-Coupe ).

Has anyone fitted wider back wheels to front end?
Not personally. By the time I got to using Monoblock VI's on my old Fortwo (as your car has fitted?), I found the grip to be more than enough but then again, even the Steel Wheels are fine for my purposes. I know of peeps who have fitted rears to the front but I think there are issues in doing so with offsets et al.

What tyres sizes do you have at the moment?

When I posted pics recently I was surprised how easy it was direct from lap top to forum using 'upload attachment' (or similarly obvious) button.

On my Pure I tried Jetline rears on the front. Wheel arch had to be trimmed for clearance but worse was the effect on the steering. Slap happy, the wheel would pull in or out of the turn on its own whim making it very difficult to 'place' the car. Not recommended!

You could always use postimg.org too, they're free , don't need to register unless you want to find your pic links again

I had a good look at the info about wiring a switch to open passenger window from drivers side thanks for the info.
I have tried four times to contact a company based locally in warrington about a remap but have been ignored so never mind .
I am surprised how much grip these cars have, when cornering recently whilst experimenting in a large empty car park I was expecting the moose effect but the little car clung on very nicely.

Ah, that is a shame about the remapping company in Warrington...

As for the handling, I guess the moose test was done with the front leaf spring suspension Smarts back in 1997/8ish, when the A Class failed it. It should understeer with the narrower wheels at the front but then again, yours should have 175 at the front/205 at the rear so the wider tyre helps over the standard 145/175 arrangement.

                        Hello all
I experienced an unusual problem with my car yesterday .
I was driving along and had been in the A setting I pulled the paddles and was using them to change gear and after a while of continuous changes they stopped working so I put the car back in autochange mode.
After a few minutes I tried the paddles again and both the up and down paddles sounded the cars horn.
I drove the car in auto then on the motorway for 2 hours and when I left the motorway I tried the paddles again and they worked properly.
I will be selling the car in approx 4 weeks time and will get it checked and serviced before the sale but am concerned about the gearbox.
                        Does anyone have any ideas?

Thank you Ocracoke once again you have given me sound advice I was beginning to think I needed a new gearbox.
I will ask specialist In southport to sort on my next visit.
                            Cheers
