Re: Hackers steal keyless BMW in under 3 minutes
suprisingly, within a short time i can have the ignition switched on and selecting gears on either a 450 or 451 without the key, the immobiliser is a different kettle of fish, but with the technology they used on the BMW it can be easily adapted to any manufacturer, older cars are sometimes far safer with a proper key

Several MINIs have gone under similar circumstances. The OBD port is a little harder to access and there is more chance of triggering the alarm but there is no official cover to protect the port; some of us have made adaptations which make it much harder to get to the port.

would be quite entertaining to have a electrical wires sewn into to seat and then having a silent alarm which connects a car coil to the seat wiring, job done, i know someone who wires a camera flash energiser 1.5v upto wires on the handle grips, no-one stole his bike

Some of the fixes include simply unscrewing the port and pushing it up behind the dash, inline switch to one of the pins or a simple cover. By sticking duct tape over the port you virtually eliminate the problem as they have to get in to remove it then the alarm goes off. It then becomes a different complexity of theft.

lol simply have one of those removable steering wheel, unless the baddies have a pair of mole grips they cant steer it away, i could get into a car, plug in the bluetooth interface, the alarm goes off, you lean out of the window and reset the alarm whilst i hide round the corner.and you think it a false alarm, or i keep setting off the alarm till the owner gets pissed off and switches it off, hey presto.
or even better turn up in daylight hours with a recovery truck with flashing lights etc, guy in hi-vis jacket and drag the car onto the back, very rarely do they get questioned
